Hedstrom Associates decided in 2006 “to practice what we preach” by taking the firm carbon neutral. We partnered with the leading company globally to do this, The CarbonNeutral Company. Based then in London and now also in New York City and San Francisco, The CarbonNeutral Company sets the "gold standard" for a robust, independently verified process in working with organizations to become carbon neutral. We have again updated our carbon neutral offsets for 2008-2009. (Click here to see our current TCNC certificate)

Given our firm belief that innovation and technology are key to radically reducing global carbon emissions, we have decided to contribute our offset investment to three projects:

• The Apiti Wind Farm located in the North Island of New Zealand, consisting of 55 turbines, each capable of producing 1.65 MW, certified as being Gold Standard compliant
• The 49.5 MW Shangyi Manjing Wind Farm with a base of 33 turbines
  located northwest of Hebei Province, China
• The Sterksel Biogas Project in the Netherlands, designed to reduce an estimated 35,000 tCO₂ equivalent between 2006 and 2007, verified and certified to the Voluntary Carbon Standard

At Hedstrom Associates, we consider climate change the dominant and defining issue of the 21st century.
