Sustainability Strategy Options for COO
A Fortune 500 technology company emerging from a major business transformation has a strong EHS, diversity, employee, and community story to tell - but lags in developing a sustainability strategy. We were asked to help guide and internal team preparing strategy options presented to the COO in July 2010.

CEO-Led Sustainability Workshop
A privately-held Swiss company in the resource and materials businesses was feeling growing pressure from customers and competitors around sustainability. We organized and facilitated a three-day workshop for the CEO, his direct reports, and a dozen other executives, drawing on outside speakers and a special benchmarking survey.

Ongoing Competitive Benchmarking
As 2010 began, we were increasingly asked for competitive benchmark data and analysis. Using our proprietary sustainability benchmark methodology, we deliver frequently "tough news" and provide insights as to strategic options, risks and opportunities.

Brand and Marketing Strategy
ReCellular, the world's foremost collector, reseller, and recycler of used wireless phones and accessories, asked Hedstrom Associates to assist with a market positioning, branding, and marketing strategy. The client is in the process of implementing our recommendations.

Strategic Environmental Issues Analysis
The President of a multinational chemical company identified "environment" as the number one (high impact/high uncertainty) driver affecting the business. We were asked to review a broad range of issues posing potential risk and opportunity. The results directly influenced the company's strategic plans and investment decisions after approval by the Board of Directors.

The "Wall Street View" of Sustainable Development
A major U.S. company asked us to analyze the financial benefits of a strong sustainable development positioning and resulting performance. As a result of our analysis, the client is positioning itself to beat key competitors and it has also embraced an ongoing competitive benchmarking service.

Strategic Sustainability Assessment
We were asked to do a Strategic Sustainability Assessment for a Fortune 100 company that was launching a new business. The assessment involved a sustainability audit of the business strategy; an Environmental Footprint Analysis of the product throughout the life cycle; and a sustainability audit, looking at a suite of environmental and social issues.

Integration of Environment into Strategic Planning
The Vice President of Strategic Planning of a Fortune 200 company asked us to spot profitable growth opportunities driven by global environmental trends. We compared trends in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America and analyzed key market sectors and potential markets. Based on our analysis, the client developed new growth investments.

Twenty-First Century Risk Management System
A Fortune 500 company asked Hedstrom Associates to evaluate potential risk areas throughout its worldwide operations and help design a system that would provide ongoing environmental assurance. Our staff helped the client develop an ongoing risk management program and assisted in strengthening the EHS audit
program to address those risks.

Organization Transformation
Hedstrom Associates brings 25 years of experience in helping companies transform their environmental organizations to provide maximum value to their businesses. We have led organization assignments with over 50 companies to deliver the right value better, faster, smarter, and at less cost than they did previously.
